Speleology is a set of activities whose main goal is the research of caves, pits, abysses, caverns and underground karst phenomena. The word comes from the Greek caving – spelaion which means underground cavity and logos meaning science.

Trained cavers participate in exploring the caves.

The largest Istrian pit Rašpor 358m is in the Buzet area as well as some smaller ones, like Birbova draga 293m and Kobljak 286m.

If you are qualified and if you possess the prescribed caving equipment, we will be pleased to get you in touch with the members of the Speleological Association “Ćićarija” Ročko polje.
